We all know the term audiology but we usually confuse the it with the term 'Ent' .So it is really  important to make a clarification. We should know  the difference between Audiology and Ent , who is an audiologist and what they do .  First let us talk about the difference between the two professions i.e. the Audiology and the Ent.  Ent doctors can provide medical treatments and even perform surgeries if needed but the Audiologists  are licensed healthcare professionals who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and balance disorders in adults and children. 

                                 Recent studies found that 4 in every 1000 children suffer from severe to profound hearing loss and 100,000  babies are born with hearing deficiencies every year.  The demand for well trained audiologists are rising year by year.  Nowadays audiology profession is  more in demand as the number of children who need assistance are increasing. Audiologists provide hearing aid to the individual with hearing loss.  When a person comes to an Ent with reduced hearing sensitivity then the Ent doctors refer them to Audiologist, where they test the patient and get the amount and type of the hearing loss and propose the management strategies.
